Yes
Tell us about your children. What do they like to do for fun?
Our son is about the most vibrant human being on this planet. My husband's aunt called him "Baby Buddah" since the day he was born. She said he had an old soul and she's right. Conversely, he is also FULL TILT all day every day. He could live his best life in a hurricane! Every new experience is just the best thing ever. His verbal abilities are far beyond a 4 year old and he really thinks about and ponders things. He generally has two speeds...dead asleep or running like the Energizer Bunny! He loves being outside, playing in dirt, water, mulch, whatever. He loves experimenting with things. We currently have an onion on the counter that he couldn't throw away, because it was sprouting and he needed to see what would happen to it. He puts his whole heart into things - loving, laughing, being happy, being mad, playing - he is just this amazing creature and watching him grow up is a joy. He loves anything that has to do with vehicles, but also likes me to put makeup on him. He is so rough and tumble, yet gentle enough to put a bug back outside because it might be thirsty. I really can't say enough about him and could go on for days!

Actor
I feel like I have different favorites for different reasons. Morgan Freeman, because I love to listen to him talk. Sandra Bullock, because she always makes me laugh. Robin Williams, because he put his whole heart into the roles he played...I'm sure there are more...
Tim Curry. He's hysterical!
Animal or Pet
I'd say I love dogs overall, although I love all animals. I considered being a vet when I was in high school.
Dogs...they love you unconditionally!
Author
I don't think I have a favorite author, but I have read numerous Nora Roberts books and all of the Harry Potter books. As an elementary educator, I read my students the Magic Treehouse books and Junie B. Jones books. I think I just have a deep love for books in general.
Bedtime story
The book Soft as the Wind. My grandmother (who will be 102 this year) had a dear friend who wrote it and she gave me a copy that my mom read to me. She also gave me her last copy before she passed away, so I would have it for my children.
Beverage / Drink
I love Coke Zero...but chocolate milk might beat that one out by a hair!
Sweet Tea
Book
I read it when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, but So Far from the Bamboo Groves is one I still look back on fondly. I also loved Where the Red Fern Grows. My most recent favorite is The Worthy Mind by Meadow DeVor
Candy Bar
ANYTHING with peanut butter or caramel!
Reece's Peanut Butter Cups
Childhood Memory
When I turned 13, my parents let me fly alone to Florida where my grandparents lived in the winters. They took me to Sea World, the beach, some amazing shell stores, and Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. It was magical!
Christmas morning with my mom.
Color
For clothing, red. For things like water bottles and notebooks, teal/aqua.
For a shirt, bright orange. I guess blue for everything else...
Dessert
All of them...I have a sweet tooth. I guess if I had to choose, cookies. They're bite size and can be made with so many fantastic variations, you never get bored.
My wife's Cheesecake. It's seriously delicious!
Disney Movie
Classic, The Little Mermaid. Newer, Moana
Moana
Car
The one I have...a Honda Odyssey. I love that minivan!!!
BMW M8
Job
I mean, I really love the one I have now. I work with 9 schools in my district who have self-contained programs for students with special needs and severe behaviors. When I retire, I want to work at a garden center!
Stay-at-home Dad...I work from home, but it would be great to just be able to be with my kids and not worry about outside work.
Family Activity
We go a lot of places on the weekends. Zoo, trampoline parks, outdoor parks, farms, etc., but I think my favorite family activity is when we cook together. My husband is a fantastic cook and I can bake a rock into tasting good. Our son just likes to dump things in bowls and stir, so it works for all of us. Even the dog is excited to help out when our son stirs a little too enthusiastically!
Swimming. Our son is so much fun when water is involved!
Restaurant
Wendy's...I love their Asiago Ranch Chicken Sandwich
Flower
Gladiola, for sure.
Fruit
Hmmm...I LOVE fruit, so I'm not sure I have a favorite...maybe melon? Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew...
Honeydew

INTRO LETTER
Hello!
My name is [Her name] and my husband is [His name]. We have one son who was conceived with my egg and donor sperm through IUI. He is the culmination of years, well more like almost a decade, of trying to get pregnant naturally, then getting an azospermia diagnosis for my husband. A few years went by and I really thought the path to parenthood had ended, until my husband finally came around to the idea of using donor sperm. It was a difficult decision for him, not really because the child wouldn't be genetically his, but more because he was afraid he wouldn't be a good father. (Spoiler alert...he's a great Daddy!) For us, this decade was the difficult part of our fertility journey. I know for some, the relentless fertility treatments are where the biggest struggles lay. Once we actually began the process of fertility treatments, we got pregnant with the first IUI. At 42, that was pretty fantastic. My pregnancy was actually really easy and enjoyable, if you ignore the nausea for 15 weeks and the swollen ankles in the last month! Even those I chalked up as a right of passage and treasured each sip of root beer to keep from vomitting. I still laugh with one of my schools who wondered why I was late one day after Christmas Break. I explained that I had to stop at Walgreens to get compression socks because I had taken my shoes off while eating lunch and couldn't get them back on!
I had our son just a few weeks before the world shut down for COVID. What was a trying time in history actually became one of my greatest blessings. Instead of 12 weeks of maternity leave, I ended up getting 5 months. [His name] works from home, so he got those months with our son as well. When my maternity leave ended, we were still working from home, so our son appeared on many Zoom meetings with me during that time. Then it was summer break. When all was said and done, he didn't go to daycare until just after he turned 5 months old. Daycare has been wonderful for him developmentally and socially as well, but it was a dream to have him home with me for those 5 months.
Fast forward to now and we just can't shake the feeling that our family isn't quite complete. Last year, we tried a series of 4 more IUIs and none of them worked. We took a break and then decided to try IVF with our last vial of donor sperm. We saved the money they said we'd need and went for the consultation. The fertility doctor delivered quite the gut punch when he said he wouldn't do IVF with my eggs. We'd have to use donor eggs. We just didn't have the money for the donor eggs AND the IVF procedures, so we took it as a sign that this wasn't right. We decided to do one last IUI, since we had the vial left. It didn't work either, so we needed to look at other options. We considered just doing foster care, but with our son so young, and his penchant for loving so deeply, we were afraid he would suffer each time a baby was reunited with their family. We considered private adoption, but we were told it could cost $70,000 and that just didn't feel right. I happened upon a mom's group and someone talked about embryo donation and that felt right. Adoption AND I get to be pregnant one last time.
To give you some insight into our family, we're goofy! We laugh and play and love to the best of our abilities. If you peeked into our windows on a week night, you'd probably see all of us curled up on one end of the couch watching tv or playing games together, dog included. never mind that we have a giant sectional! Our weekends look a little different and this is why. [His name) was in a bad accident with a logging truck (he was a passenger) when I was pregnant. It's a call you hope you don't get. He was out-of-state after his dad's funeral. I had driven back with his aunt and he stayed there a couple more days. He called to say they had been hit from behind by a logging truck. He didn't think he was hurt, but I made him go to the hospital anyway. He ended up having a back injury that ultimately lead to significant loss of mobility for him. So on the weekends, he works a side job at home and our son and I go and do an activity in the morning. When we get home, our son naps with [His name} and I get things done around the house and then relax a little, since I work full-time outside the home. When our son gets up from his nap, we cook together, play games together, watch movies, "go camping" - a fire pit with s'mores in the backyard, and generally just spend time together. [His name] loss of mobility cause some weight gain and the anesthesiologist wouldn't let him have the back surgery. I'm happy to report that [His name] is now back down to his target weight and they willl be scheduling his procedure in the next couple months. This will be life changing for him, to not be in constant pain and we look forward to him joining in on our weekend galavanting!
I'm not sure what else to add, but we're willing to answer any questions somone might have for us. Fair warning, if you ask our son or I a question, you will get paragraphs. If you ask [His name], you'll get just the answer. It's part of why we work well together. We balance each other out!
If you got this far, thank you for taking the time to consider us as a potential family for your embryos. We promise that if you choose us, the child born will be loved to the ends of the earth by all of us. If you do not, we wish you peace and love and everything good this life has to offer.
Love,
[His name], [Her name], and our son (and our beagle mutt)

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to tell you about my nephew, [His name], and his wife, Heather. As a Certified Life Coach, I believe it's crucial to start with a broad perspective before delving into specifics, as it's the overarching values and beliefs that truly define individuals and families.
[His name] and [Her name] both come from diverse, multi-generational families, encompassing various relationships such as divorced, adopted, transgender, step, disabled, and half-sibling connections, all of whom are embraced as integral members of their extended family circle. Even the most intricate family dynamics, including in-law and step relationships, are embraced and cherished as part of their familial core.
What truly distinguishes this family unit is the profound love that unites them. Despite facing numerous challenges and experiencing loss, they navigate through life without succumbing to jealousy or greed. Their unwavering support for one another, irrespective of circumstances, is truly remarkable.
Central to their bond is their devotion to family, which has only strengthened with the arrival of their son, who illuminates their lives with joy. REFERENCE LETTER 2
To Whom it May Concern,
My name is J. I have known [His name] for over 45 years. During our lifelong friendship, I have found [His name] to be one of the most loyal, compassionate, and reliable friends any man could wish to have.
One of my earliest memories of us being friends is when a kid was picking on me and hitting me at school and [His name] stepped in front of me and yelled, "NOBODY HURTS MY FRIEND!" I think I knew then that we'd be friends forever.
[His name] is a man of high moral character and highly driven. When he told me he was going to be a father several years ago, I could not have been happier for him. I knew he would be a great dad and [His name] has not disappointed. He is an amazing father to his young son. He is patient, caring, loving, always there to guide, but stern when necessary.
His wife, [Her name], is an equally amazing mother. I have personally never seen a mother take so much time educating, molding, and teaching their child the way [Her name] has with their son. I am certain that [Her name] background in special education has helped with the way she is with her son, and it is amazing to see.
[His name] and [Her name] are wonderful parents. They are very good people and are two people I love and cherish very much. Their having another child is something that they not only deserve, but the rest of us deserve as well.
Sincerely,
J
REFERENCE LETTER 3
February 20, 2024
To whom it may concern,
I met [Her name] while we were studying at college and met while cleaning apartments. The day we met was the day we decided we would live together the next semester. I think we both knew that we'd be friends forever that first day. In the 25+ since then, she has been more than just a friend, she has been family. She has seen me through the birth of both of my children, supported me through the loss of both of my parents.
[Her name] has a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master of Arts, both in education. She has focused her professional skills towards helping children and students with special needs such as physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. Her friendship and education made her one of my “go to” people for advice and assistance while raising both of my children, even though at that time she didn’t have any children of her own. [Her name] isn’t just a good parent in theory, she is a good parent in practice, having a son of her own. Her son is a direct reflection of her positive parenting, and he is well adjusted, intelligent, energetic, and loving. I admire how [Her name] refrains from using negative language with/about him – for example she doesn’t tell him he’s a naughty child, but she lets him know when he is acting “spicy” (as she likes to call him). She has patience and grace in abundance, and she is constantly teaching him at every opportunity, not just academically, but with basic life skills, doing it with the perfect balance of parental control and gentle parenting style.
[Her name] is a well-rounded person – as a wife, a parent, a friend, a daughter, and a teacher. She gives back to her community, has an open mind, strives to be the person she can be, and radiates love. She is compassionate, empathetic, and leads through services to others. She is already an excellent mother of one, and I would love for her to have the opportunity to give the gift of a sibling to her son.
Thank you,
J
